We are looking to appoint an ambitious, innovative and outstanding Director of Learning to provide leadership in our Science Departments. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills. He or she will be able to continue to raise standards for all our students and motivate, inspire and support a strong team.
As Director of Learning, you will have the opportunity to be part of community of schools committed to ‘Ensuring Excellence’. You will be part of the Operational Leadership Team and have strategic input into the development of high quality teaching and learning practices across The Telford Langley and Park Schools.
This role offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to develop their own leadership role across two sites. The successful applicant will be based at one school. However, time will be allocated to working with department leads across both schools; strengthening collaborative working.
The successful applicant will:
Model excellence in day-to-day leadership.
Lead the development of high quality, learning centred policies & practices.
Work with staff to ensure the science department reflects the school’s ethos and aims.
Develop a strategic view for science which support the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
Support the creation and implementation of the school improvement plan, especially as it relates to the subject areas and to take responsibility for appropriately delegated aspects of it.
Use national, local and school management data effectively, to monitor standards across the science department.
Monitor the progress made towards achieving annual plans and targets and use the information to plan future developments.
Ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum, targets, children’s progress and attainment within their appropriate year groups.
