I hope that you are all safe and well.
You may have seen in the press that the UK Government and Public Health England has updated its advice to schools regarding our role in Track and Trace during the school holidays. In this new guidance, schools have been given the option to close early for the Christmas break on Thursday 17th December and make up the lost teaching time later in the school year.
Please be aware that we have decided not to take this option and we will continue with our existing plans (please see link below), rather than to change them at this late stage.
Friday 18th December will be the last day of term and our existing arrangements for the end of term are unchanged
The students will return to school as calendared, at their usual start times, on Tuesday 5th January as planned
In order for us to comply with our Track and Trace responsibilities can I ask that If your child tests positive for Covid-19 during the Christmas holiday and they were symptomatic on Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th December, please notify school via email email@example.com . If your child tests positive but their symptoms started on Monday 21st December onwards, you do not need to contact school but should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
Please contact the school using the usual channels if you would like further information regarding this matter.
As always thank you for your ongoing support.
