Ensuring
Excellence
Dear
Parents/Carers
Following
the announcement by the prime minister it has been confirmed that external
vocational examinations that were scheduled to take place in the next two weeks
will continue as planned.
The school
will follow strict control measures for the exams at all times in line with
government guidance – can I please reassure you that the welfare and safety of
pupils is of paramount importance at all times.
It is vital
that students revise thoroughly for these examinations as they will form
part of the evidence for their final grade. Subject teachers will provide
support ahead of the exam over allocated sessions in Microsoft Teams.
Students
must arrive at school, in full school uniform, 30 minutes before the start of
the exam. They are to enter the school through the side entrance and go
directly to the Sports Hall.
· Tuesday 12th January, 09:00am –
CNAT Engineering (1 Hour)
· Wednesday 13th January, 01:00pm
– CNAT Information Technologies (1 Hour 45m)
If for any
reason you do not attend the exam the exam boards have confirmed the
below:
· They will award a grade
for any learner who is unable to take their exams and has enough evidence
to receive a certificate that they need for progression.
· Learners unable to take their
assessment this January may be able to take their assessment at
a later date. If that is not possible, we will put in place
arrangements to ensure you are not disadvantaged.
We are still
awaiting further clarification from the exam boards in relation to any other
vocational assessments taking place outside this two week window. The school
position continues to be that students should continue to prepare fully for
these upcoming assessments engaging fully in all the live sessions and revision
advice provided by subject teachers.
The Mock
exams planned for next week will not
go ahead as planned. However we will look at rescheduling these exams in due
course when pupils return. It is therefore of vital importance that students
engage fully in the live sessions being delivered and complete the work
allocated by their subject teachers over this period of working at home.
If you
require any further information about the examinations please do not hesitate
to contact school. If students would like additional support then please can
they direct all questions to their subject teacher.
Yours faithfully,
Mr S Carter
