Ensuring
Excellence
Dear Parents/Carers
As a school we have started to develop our use of Microsoft
Teams to deliver subject clinics to allow students to keep in contact with
staff and ask questions using the different subject channels. Class teams have
also been setup to allow students to access resources for classes on their
timetable shared by their teachers.
Additionally, we have also started to deliver live video
sessions over teams where pupils will have a subject specific session focussing
on a key area of learning or knowledge. When a bubble are required to work at
home these sessions are compulsory and should be attended by all students in
the bubble (Students will be sent an invite to the ‘live’ sessions through
teams).
Clearly the use of Microsoft Teams requires students to work
in a different way than normal and allows pupils to develop their learning both
in school and at home. With this is mind can I ask that you encourage your
child to download the Microsoft Teams App to their phone. The App is free to
download on either Apple or Android devices. We intend to continue to develop
our use of Microsoft Teams going forward and important notifications will be
sent over teams throughout the year to support students learning in all
subjects. We strongly encourage students to regularly use teams throughout the
academic year to access resources at home to support classroom based learning.
Finally, please find below a link to the online learning expectations for students when using Microsoft Teams. It is important that your child understands that this is a learning platform and their behaviour when using this tool should always be of the highest standard.
